Imagine the sweet tang of ripe cantaloupe melon and pineapple, infused with the aromatic zest of fresh rosemary, all fizzing with sparkling water. It’s not just refreshing; it’s a vitamin-packed flavor explosion.

Ingredients for this summer drink

This fabulous summer cocktail has:

  • cantaloupe melon,
  • pineapple,
  • sparkling water,
  • ice cubes,
  • and rosemary.

Rosemary is actually a rich source of antioxidants and anti-inflammatory compounds. On top of it, by adding rosemary you will have a delicious piny, woodsy flavor. The combo with Cantaloupe melon and pineapple is wonderful.

BTW, did you know that you can make very easily fresh rosemary tea (caffeine free) ? I steep some fresh rosemary in hot water for about 5 minutes or longer (up to 10 minutes to draw out more of its nutrients). And I like to use it in my detox water too. No fresh rosemary on hand, I have tried this summer drink recipe with 2 drops of essential rosemary oil (make sure it is edible) and it is totally insane ! Or even you could use dried rosemary.

A plant-based drink to improve a healthy living

The more plant-based food we add to our diet the more we tend to make a healthy living. Why should we do it ? To stay healthy, have a healthy gut and boost our immune system. I was on a show this week (‘Bahrain now‘) to talk about the beautiful world of a plant-based diet and all its benefits. It is very important to keep up reading and seeking inspiration about a plant-based lifestyle. By having a plant-rich diet, I feel I am doing a lot of magic for my body and I hope you feel the same.

She is a board certified lifestyle medecin physician and her website has a lot of great informations about (i.e.) the power of plants, the impact of ultra processed foods in the body, how to optimize health on a plant-based diet. I love to read her blog, it is so inspiring.

This in mind, in this delicious rosemary summer drink, I have used my high speed blender (instead of juicing) to keep all the fiber and make it healthy and sexy with sweet ingredients. Because fiber doesn’t get destroyed by your blender. Great news, right ?!

STEP 1 – BLENDING

There is no need to use a juicer for this refreshing rosemary summer drink and I am sure like me you’ll be happy to avoid a lot of cleaning. Because this sexy and healthy rosemary summer drink is about blending everything together. That’s it. It means you’ll get more fiber than in a juice.

As summer is here, I like to choose seasonal melon and pineapple and local if possible. I am so happy to say that now Bahrain has melon too but I am still waiting for the pineapple to grow here ! If it is even possible ?! For this reason, there is no need to add any sweetener.

STEP 2

Add sparkling water and ice cubes to this delicious summer drink, you will feel hydrated and so refreshed.

HEALTHY ROSEMARY SUMMER DRINK

A lovely summer drink, tasty and refreshing. So easy to make (kids can do it too). Packed with fiber because it is important.

Ingredients
 

  • 1 cup Cantaloupe melon (heaped cup) cut into square
  • 1 cup pineapple (heaped cup) cut into square
  • 3 ice cubes
  • rosemary sprig (leaves only, woody stem removed), or 1-2 drops of rosemary essential oil (edible)
  • 250 ml sparkling water

Decoration

  • Few ice cubes
  • 1-2 rosemary sprig(s)

Equipment

  • High speed blender

Instructions
 

  • Cut Cantaloupe melon and pineapple into pieces.
  • Add 1 heaped cup of each into a high speed blender. Add ice cubes and rosemary leaves (1/3 of a sprig) or 1 to 2 drops of rosemary essential oil.  Blend altogether for 45 to 60 seconds.
  • Add sparkling water and blend again for 1 to 3 seconds. 
  • Fill up 2 glasses with ice cubes. Pour gently your summer cocktail, decorate and enjoy !
