Vegan chocolate mousse, easy and quick dessert recipe

Unlike traditional chocolate mousse, this version contains no eggs, no butter, and no dairy. Just a handful of wholesome ingredients that create the most velvety, chocolatey texture. Honestly, I think it tastes even better than the classic version—and it’s so much better for you!

What’s inside this healthy vegan mousse?

This delicious chocolate mousse is made with:

  • Ripe avocado (hello, creaminess!)
  • Raw cacao powder for deep chocolate flavor (and antioxidants)
  • A touch of vanilla powder
  • Medjool dates for natural sweetness
  • Maple syrup
  • A splash of your favorite plant-based milk

Who knew avocado could be the star of a dessert? Trust me—it works beautifully here. The result is a decadent, chocolate-rich treat that’s 100% plant-based and surprisingly nutritious.

Why this vegan chocolate mousse is healthier?

So, what makes this chocolate mousse healthier than the classic version?

  • Avocado adds that creamy texture while having healthy, anti-inflammatory fats that’s so good for our body.
  • Raw cacao is a powerhouse of antioxidants, even more than blueberries—hello, glow!
  • Dates bring natural sweetness along with a boost of fiber, which helps with digestion and keeps you full longer.

Honestly, it’s amazing how nature gives us everything we need for delicious, nourishing treats. Thank you, Earth, for the goodness!

Top Tip : why I use raw cacao?

Raw cacao is not the same as your average cocoa powder. Most commercial cocoa is heavily processed and roasted, which strips away many of the antioxidants and flavanols—the powerful compounds that help keep you feeling (and looking) young and healthy.

Raw cacao, on the other hand, is minimally processed and packed with goodness. It’s believed to have up to 40 times more antioxidants than blueberries! These antioxidants help fight off free radicals in the body, which supports healthy aging and overall wellness.

That’s not all—raw cacao is also rich in iron, magnesium, and even calcium, making it a true superfood for your heart, brain, and bones.

And when you blend raw cacao with ripe avocado and maple syrup, you get a rich, creamy chocolate flavor—without any dairy or refined sugar. Pure magic!

Vegan chocolate mousse with avocado

An easy recipe to make a delicious dessert. Go for ripe avocado for more creaminess! This is too good !

Ingredients

  • 2 ripe avocados, stoned and peeled
  • 3 tbsp raw cacao powder
  • 1 tsp vanilla powder
  • 3 dates, pitted and soaked in water
  • ¼ cup vegetal milk , (I use rice, soya or macadamia milk, but any other non dairy milk will work)
  • 2 tbsp maple syrup

Instructions

  • Soak the dates in hot water for about 5 minutes to make them moist and easy to blend. Then, remove the dates (and save the water for a smoothie).
  • Simply put all ingredients in a food processor or a blender (if possible a small or medium container) and mix until smooth. If you use a big blender perhaps you will need to stop a few times, scrap off the sides and blend again.
  • Fill in small glasses or cups with the delicious mousse and chill them in the fridge for at least 1h.
  • Sprinkle them with some raw cacao nibs, roasted coconut flakes or a big batch of lovely raspberries, before serving.
