This super hydrating watermelon smoothie has high water content and is packed with the best nutrients. But what are the ingredients for this fresh smoothie? It has watermelon, strawberries, coconut water, lime, goji berries and booster seeds. Because chia and hemp seeds make this smoothie high in critical nutrients. It helps to create a creamy smoothie with extra protein, good fat and general well-being. On the other side, watermelon and coconut water are well known to help with rehydration.

And it is a 10 minutes recipe to feel fresh and hydrated. Perfect during summer or Ramadan (after Iftar or at Suhoor).

Can I meal prep my smoothie ?

Absolutely, you can precut watermelon and strawberries 1 day ahead and place them in a glass jar in the fridge. So the day after, you add the pre-cut fruits, coconut water (fresh is my favorite), lime, goji berries, chia and hemp seeds in a blender.

Strawberries are not in season

For this delicious and healthy pink smoothie, you can definitely use raspberries instead of strawberries. You might need to add a date as raspberries are less sweet in taste.

And you could try pomegranate or red grapes too. Let’s be creative.

Is this smoothie nutrient-dense?

By blending (vs. juicing) you preserve more nutrients and beneficial compounds. Actually this smoothie recipe contains a lot of vitamins, minerals and fiber too.

Fiber is great because it slows the digestion of the sugar in fruits, it helps to improve digestion health and it keeps you full for a longer period.

By the way, this smoothie has no sugar added and is very low in sugar thanks to the watermelon and strawberries.

Why should I add goji berries, chia seeds and hemp seeds into my smoothie?

Because goji berries add a bit of sweetness to this smoothie and they contain a lot of antioxidants.

Plus, chia seeds and hemps seeds are nutrients booster. By adding them to your smoothie, you can improve your diet for healthy skin, hair and body, especially during Ramadan or if you workout a lot.

First, chia seeds are high in fiber, have protein and they are rich in antioxidants. Secondly, hemp seeds are rich in healthy fat, omega 3 and omega 6. It is great for your heart.

HYDRATING WATERMELON SMOOTHIE

Best smoothie to stay hydrated and with added nutrients to feel at your best (and feel full). This smoothie is excellent to rehydrate your body, any time you feel dehydrated.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 cup watermelon
  • 1 cup strawberries (approx. 9 pieces)
  • 1 cup fresh coconut water - or can (but without added sugar)
  • 1 tsp chia seeds
  • Β½ or 1 tbsp hemp seeds
  • 1 tbsp goji berry - if they are too dry, let them sit and rehydrate them few minutes in hot water
  • Few ice cubes - for your glass

INSTRUCTIONS

  • You can precut the watermelon and strawberries one day ahead and place it in a glass jar in the fridge.
  • Place all the ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth.
  • Prepare a glass with some ice cubes and pour this delicious smoothie. Enjoy.
