Good Morning from Bahrain ! This is my new favorite energy booster smoothie recipe, a red smoothie with raw beetroot ! And this healthy smoothie is really brilliant : energy in a glass.

There is nothing better than to kick start your day with a pack of nutrients. Only 6 ingredients are included in the recipe but they are powerful. Beetroot, cucumber, spinach, acai powder, hemp seeds and blueberries ! And all of this for breakfast, this is the magic of a smoothie !

Nothing easier, as I just blend all the ingredients together in a high speed blender for few minutes.

Full of antioxidants, this smoothie falls into the category of immunity booster. And it is very good as a post workout drink too !

So, I mix vegetables (beetroot, cucumber, spinach), fruits (blueberries) and superfood (acai powder, hempseeds) together to make a delicious smoothie. And the beetroot gives an amazing deep color to this energy booster smoothie.

Beetroot is an amazing ingredient.

Recently, it has been gaining in popularity, due to recent studies claiming that beets and beetroot juice can improve athletic performance, lower blood pressure and increase blood flow !

Needless to say that raw beetroot is perfect for salad or smoothie and they are coming in many shapes, sizes and colors for the pleasure of the eyes and tasting !

Do you want some beetroot for your breakfast ? This smoothie is incredibly tasty !

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 small raw beetroot, peeled and cut into chunks - 100 gr (approx.)
  • ยฝ cup blueberries
  • 1 small cucumber - 75 gr (approx.)
  • ยพ cup spinach leaves
  • 1 banana cut into pieces
  • 1 tbsp acai powder
  • 1 tbsp hempseeds
  • 1 date - (optional)
  • 1 1/2 cups water
  • 2 ice cubes

INSTRUCTIONS

  • Place all the ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth !
