Homemade Chia Jam healthy and so delicious.

This blueberry chia seed jam recipe is divine ! There is nothing better than homemade jam, right? Especially when it’s so good for your body and it only takes about 15 minutes.

Because it’s homemade, it is free of additives or preservatives in it. And I did not add any refined sugar. It’s 100% healthy ! This jam recipe includes 1 1/2 tablespoon of maple syrup (or any healthy sweetener of your choice), but this remains optional if you want to cut all type of sweetener.

You can spread this lovely blueberry chia seed jam on a loaf of bread, on pancakes, on a slice of apple or you can mix it into your yoghurt bowl or chia pudding ! The possibilities are plentiful !

Any excuse will be a good one to eat this homemade jam !!

And the best is the addition of chia in it. Chia seeds are a powerhouse ingredient, packed with nutrients (check my top tip below if you want to know more about this very very small seed).

My secret is that I love to make some jam before the weekend, to enjoy it with the whole family or with my friends!

Do you want to make it a hit?! Try out one of my pancake recipes too ! I like to cook my grand-mother’s pancake recipe for the kids whenever I have high quality and organic eggs on hand. And definitely, my favorite pancake remains my banana blueberry pancakes recipe.

Top Tip about chia seeds

We forget often the power of this ancient seeds from the Aztec : chia seeds !

The list of its benefits is quite long. It contains a lot of vital nutrients like : vitamins A, B, E, and D, omega-3 essential fatty acids, antioxidants, protein, calcium, iron, potassium, as well as other key minerals.

It seems that just two Tbsp (tablespoons) of chia seeds contains 10 grams of fiber, 6 grams of protein, more calcium than a glass of milk, more omega-3 than salmon, more iron than spinach, and more antioxidants than blueberries !

So my jam recipe is a great way to eat them !

Chia seeds are very useful for vegan or plant-based eater

Did you know that you can use chia seeds as an egg replacer in baking?

For 1 egg, you will have to mix : 1 tbsp (tablespoon) of chia seeds + 3 tbsp of water .

Then, let it sit for 15 minutes, before to mix with the rest of your ingredients ! For some recipes (it’s better to try first) it works perfectly !
