When it is the season, this dessert or quick snack is totally insane because of the orange twist and the chocolate ! A must try : you can not believe that it's healthy. And it works well as a gift.
Wash the oranges, trim the ends of the blood oranges, and slice them (½ cm) keeping the skin. Remove the seeds.
Line a baking tray with parchment paper. Lay flat the orange slices on the lined tray and brush them with maple syrup over each slice (face down too).
Bake in the oven for about 30-35 minutes or until slightly brown on top.
Remove them from the oven and let it dry for 10 minutes. Place them in the fridge for about 1 hour.
COATING
Place the raw cacao, coconut oil, vanilla extract and maple syrup in a mixing bowl and melt over boiling water, bain-marie style. Mix well until melted and set aside.
Dip the orange slices halfway into the chocolate. Lay them down flat on a piece of parchment paper (over a dinner plate).
Top with salt flakes and cacao nibs.
Transfer to the fridge to set for about 60 min.
You can keep them in an airtight container in the fridge for 1 to 2 weeks.
